The first time I learned about the 1989 Tiananmen Protest and Massacre was in my 8 years old from my mom. I was shocked by the truth that the arbitrator of this erased tragic event and the friendly loving portrayal narrated in the textbook are the same person. It illuminated the pervasive manipulation of information by crafting narratives to serve its purposes, even eduacation.
